SAP Business Objects - Built-in Checks

Here you will find detailed information about Built-in checks for SAP Business Objects monitored objects.

Built-in checks are deployed automatically for a monitored object type. Once Avantra has detected a specific monitored object, each of the relevant built-in checks will be auto-deployed to the agent to begin check execution and status reporting. Built-in checks can be configured using Monitoring Parameters (e.g. to set threshold values) and can also be disabled if they are not relevant to your landscape.

BO_JobStat

BO_Jobs

BO_Logs

Description

This Check verifies all log files of an SAP Business Objects installation. It parses the log entries that have been added during the last 60 minutes (configurable by BoLogsTimeSpan).

Each of the SAP Business Objects's various log files is examined and results in a dedicated check sub result section with its own status, which then contributes to the overall status of the check.

To narrow down the log file selection, the parameter BoLogGroups may be used.

The criteria for WARNING and CRITICAL states of a log entry may be adapted by the monitoring parameters BoLogExprWarn and BoLogExprCrit.

BO_Processes

Verify processes of an SAP Business Objects installation.

Description

This {Check} verifies the processes of an SAP Business Objects installation. Special attention is paid to the _Server Intelligence Agent (sia) process. If any problem is detected with that process, the check will become CRITICAL, which in turn will affect the status of BO_Alive.

If any problems with other processes are detected, the check will become WARNING.

BO_Servers

Verify servers of an SAP Business Objects installation.

Description

This Check verifies the status of the servers of an SAP Business Objects installation. The list of servers to be examined can be narrowed down either by a allow list BoServersInclude or deny list parameter BoServersExclude.
